Position Brief:
The ComplianceOfficer will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation andmonitoring of the Corporation's compliance program. The program establishedwill ensure that the Corporation remains in compliance with all applicablelaws, rules and regulations governing operations and products. The ComplianceOfficer will also support ensuring that sufficient information is available forSenior Management and the Board of Directors as to the adherence and extent ofour compliance program.
Responsibilities:
Review and establishpolicies, procedures and practices to ensure the Corporation remains incompliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Maintains currentinformation on all legal and regulatory developments that affect theCorporation.
Consults with andadvises operating units and managers on all compliance related issues. Thisincludes assisting the individual departments in establishing and maintainingcurrent policies, procedures and self-testing guides to ensure adherence withlaws and regulations. This will also enable the departments to be alerted ofweaknesses or problems and fix them prior to any scheduled exam.
Participates in newproduct and systems development, PC banking and website modifications.
Coordinates thecompliance-monitoring program. Assigns level of risk (High, Moderate & Low)to individual areas to determine the level and frequency of training, testingand monitoring.
Coordinates, conductsand evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of the training program related toall compliance issues.
Supports any internal orexternal audit/exam on compliance related activities. Also participates in providing the responsesand ensures that corrective actions are implemented resulting from anyregulatory examination or audit.
Reviews all forms ofadvertising prior to distribution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent; and at least three to five years of related experience andtraining; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certifications such as CRCM, or J. D. aredesired.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
